Here is the link to the peer review version of my revision project.
After leaving review today, I feel I got very beneficial feedback to move forward with what I have. Going into review, I was at a blocked point in my work where I didn’t know what direction to go or if what I had made sense. First, I was told that my topic and argument was interesting. My peers thought it was relevant and something that all of us experienced first-hand as children. Even though a small remark it really helped me believe in what I had picked for the project overall. Also it demonstrated that I had a foundation for the final product. They also ensured that using anecdotes is a good move to engage the readers on a personal level.
Some of the constructive feedback I thought was essential in how I will move forward. A big piece that needed to be cleaned up is what I was identifying as curated content. I mentioned a couple ideas in my revision plans but failed to include most in the actual draft. One I brought up in review that was approved was the #iwokeuplikethistrend, so I may use it for the final. Identifying the group who was posting versus consuming the content was also a suggestion I received from Dr. Frank. This idea I hadn’t veen thought of as important and rather assumed my audience would understand who I was referring to. These two key comments I believe will ground my perspective more and reach my goal of being more clear/intentional with words.
Lastly, I got some helpful ideas of what other topics could be touched on because of their relevency to social media. The biggest I remember is to include the Covid-19 pandemic as a stressor to why people consume more media than they used. I think I’ll consider this path moving forward but I’m also worried about jumping around too much.
