The above LO expects that students have learned and can use software effectively, ethically, and in appropriate settings. Additionally, that students understand how/when technology can or cannot be used (ex. AI has limitations in accuracy therefore is questionable ethically). The assignments I have identified as measures of success for the LO is the Calm Down video project for Professional & Technical Writing and the final brochure project, also from Professional & Technical Writing.
I have chosen the above projects because they both use a variety of technology in a professional and effective manner. I can also verify that the projects are made ethically because they are intended for academic or professional use. The Calm Down video blends together photographs I’ve taken with video/sound editing software to create an informational video about calming down before interviews. Secondly, the brochure project uses Canva to create a mock brochure for a professional app. It was required to not only be compelling but inform the reader about what the product is.
