Someone within my major discipline, specifically my English major, would greatly benefit from a program such as this. Being able to work through writing with students causes writing fellows themselves to evaluate and develop their own writing skills. It also gives English students a way to interact with writing and reading outside of their classroom setting. What I believe would be an interest for students to join is the flexibility of tutor hours based upon their schedule. Also, that it is a paid position regardless of work study or not. I wish tutees understood the time that we spend doing work in order to help them, and that it truly is beneficial for them to see us. We provide insight on both the classroom agenda and the professors expectations of the students. This could be an appealing aspect for tutees if they were aware. Especially for a student who may be struggling in the course.
