The first article I read was about a recent issue off campus regarding drugging drinks. This is a very serious news story for the Cynic and includes interviews from the UVM police departments and medical staff. The story is still updating, asking students to reach out for more information or support at the end of the article. Journalism wise, this is a hard news piece. It includes the fives w’s and important information with details throughout. As an audience member, it makes me wonder if there will be updated stories.
Second Article:
This article is about the issues regarding faculty representation within higher administration at UVM. They feel that higher administration dismisses and ignores many of the concerns from both faculty and student body. I found it really interesting that UVM is going through this currently and how similar it is to what is going on at UNE. There is a rise in the student and faculty voice, and a want to be more connected. It makes me question how large the impact of the pandemic has been on universities as a whole, not just UNE.
