The first story that I read for this week is about the recent plan to make updates to the wellness and recreation facilities on campus. UVM has invested over 68 million dollars into this project already. There is a projected goal that this will increase student mental health and wellbeing after the effects of the pandemic. The news editor who wrote this piece interviewed people such as the campus president for quotes. Overall, the story itself is a short update piece on an ongoing event. The second story I read is about the UVM newspaper being brought back to a physical print since their last issue in November of 2020. This piece was a beautifully done narrative telling the story of how the Cynic lost and regained its physical paper. They chose to remove it due to the pandemic and not wanting to pass around items, but it caused a large internal issue. The busy-ness of the team stopped and the paper slowed down.
