Journalism, to me, is the capture of an event or a story to present to those who could not be physically present. Journalism can be presented in matters of major news, music, culture, and people. There truly is an endless number of topics when it comes to journalism. In the future, I would like to be a journalist myself. I think if I am to become a journalist I would ideally write about people, culture, and music. I have a fascination with learning about people through literature and many of my favorite novels include popular journalists from past. Journalism I believe is extremely important, if not the most important form of media we continue to have today. Many try to say that traditional forms of writing are disappearing into the past but far often to not notice the role journalism plays in our everyday lives. When you read that post on instagram it was probably picked from a piece someone wrote, every single piece of apple news you receive is by someone. The things you hear about in a day all come from technically the internet, but the content itself is gathered from people like journalists. People who are reporting on and updating the world on what’s going on. The world would be a uninformed and unconnected place without the news, almost back to the dark ages. It goes hand in hand with the importance of everyday communication, helping us form into intellectual and informed individuals.
