Although I was not in class because of what is going on, I did help my peers make our evaluation sheet for the search committee. Therefore instead ill be talking about what I chose to focus on in our evaluation sheet. My group worked together and created a 5 section rubric including things like professionalism, self awareness, connection, effectiveness of answers, and overall attitude. All 5 of these things are key components to what makes a good interviewer. The choices we made were based off of previous jobs we’ve had or interviews. I think that our criteria in each category is also very specific in what were looking for. It doesn’t overlay in multiple score levels either which is important. I find sometimes on evaluation sheets it can be clouded where a person falls because they meet criteria for two different categories. I think the most important category we have on here would be the connection. It’s interesting the way we chose to frame this because we focused on connecting with the interviewers. The first part of a job is to be immersed and communicate with your coworkers, so its then important to find a candidate who does. No one wants to work with people that make them feel uncomfortable or unwelcome in the workspace.
