Journal #21

One thing that I found interesting but also helpful in this chapter was the description of an interview that they gave. It says the characteristics of an interview are goal-drive, question-answer, structured, controlled and unbalanced., Obviously, these are things I could kind of put into words having done interviews before, but this is a concrete explanation. One that I specifically think people would disagree with is the unbalanced perspective, but it is true. In an interview it its curated to that one prospective employee based on both their qualifications and the answers they gave to previous interview questions. It created an environment that is unpredictable and guided by the conversation. Overall, this chapter breaks down the elements of an interview, highlighting its keystone factors and necessities.
