Journal #15

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be in person with my group this week to do work on our project. To combat this problem, I had to be diligent on my communication with my group. this meant texting with them in our group chat and giving them an update on progress. I don’t think this solution would have been able to work if my group didn’t mesh well together, or assign roles. Since I had the job of testimonials, and one Big Picture Idea, I knew what was to be done even with being absent. I also was able to contribute work to the Resources portion of the project, and complete my About Me part. Having group access to our project, and being able to see the work of my peers made this a lot easier. I was able to comment and build off the work my peers got done in person with my absence. The tasks that work remote would, honestly, be the same as what were able to get done in class. Since our document is shared, were all able to access and work on it at the same time. The one downside to doing remote work is not being able to bounce ideas off each other in real time. It requires each one of us to then go and edit the work of another, adding time to our final result. Editing though is part of the process regardless. As of right now, we already have assigned ourselves tasks and were all working to finish them. I have testimonials to finish, edit, and put on our final product. The other portions of my work so far are ready to be edited and talked over with my groupmates next class. Overall, I am feeling very confident in the direction our project is heading. To keep this mindset keeping communication between each other in our group chat is our biggest challenge.
