I genuinely liked the student writing process. What influenced me the most was going over our expectations together about the process and sharing past experiences of getting not so good feedback. This made the feedback I get from my classmates more influential and I felt they cared more in the feedback they gave. It also made me care more about what I said to other people. I feel proud of the responses I gave back to my peers. I tried to compliment their work and leave constructive comments on how to improve it more. I also enjoyed reading other peers’ papers. It gave me more of an insight into their writing perspectives and inspired my own writing. I felt going into my paper I was in a major writer’s block. I wasn’t clear of my argument and even though my annotations were thorough, I couldn’t find strong examples. This made my rough draft a nightmare to write and it wasn’t my expected writing. Going into the peer revision, I was nervous of the responses I was going to get because of my awareness of my poor writing. Reading others papers motivated me to go back through the articles deeper to find examples and better understand my argument. Rewriting my paper, I felt confident with the responses I got from my peers and the influence I took from other people’s writing. Overall, I feel confident in the classroom environment we have for peer review for future papers.
